Pavarotti once said:

“One of the nicest things about life is that we must regularly stop what we are doing
and devote our attention to eating”.

History

It’s not history that you need to change.

It’s your attitude towards the past.

As a child growing up in the eighties, Cher’s video clip of “If I could turn back time” is a vivid memory of mine. Today I was reminded of that song, or rather its title.
If we really could turn back time, would we ever want to go back?
As much as we’d like to do things over, my answer would be no. There is no U-Turn in life.
None of us can turn back the clock.
Why then, do we all spend so much time living in the past? We can’t return to it.
We can’t even trust that our memory of it is accurate.
All we know of the past is memory.
Everything else we assume on trust, or we imagine it.
We can’t live in the here-and-now when we bind ourselves by our ties to the there-and-then.

Yet still, we somehow find it easier to look back than to cast our thoughts too far forward.

Fear

“Fear of failure is never so frightening as regret.”
