Memoirs of Aleisha

@ The Press Club

Posted by Alei in June 7, 2009

The Press Club is so-named because of its location on the ground floor of Melbourne’s Herald and Weekly Times building. It serves fine dining Modern Greek cuisine from  Masterchef George Calombaris.

Birthday lunch was had here at the Press Club. Bookings in advance (even for lunch) are highly recommended to ensure a spot.

Service definitely needed improving but was redeemed as the day progressed.

Champagne was had, followed by a bottle of New Zealand Crowded House.

The food was extremely flavoursome and filling, with some unusual flavour combinations.

Between us we had oysters with a honey almond sauce which were amazing. Oysters and honey - who would have thought, This was followed by duck, fish, and chicken, with dessert to top it off.

This is a restaurant where food is art. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy the food porn.

Version 28.0

Today I am 28 years young.

”Another year older but none the wiser”, so they say.

Yesterday it was my birthday.

I hung one more year on the line.

I should be depressed.

My life’s a mess.

But I’m having a good time.

I’ve been loving and loving and loving.

I’m exhausted from loving so well

I should go to bed.

But a voice in my head says,

“Ah, what the hell.”
